Coaching is not always easy. It shows us where we are doing things that may not be helping us in our working lives.
Sync Coaching has given some people ideas for changing the way we all feel about things and react to things. Lots of times, how we feel is linked to the stories we tell ourselves about what we can or cannot do at work.
When the sun shines and we hit the beach, do we rip off our clothes and rush in the water? Or do we sit on the sand with a big ice cream because we're frightened of the jellyfish?
The big question is - if we stay on the beach, is it really where we want to be?
Welcome to Sync’s Summer Coaching Bulletin which is all about the sea and storytelling.
We are looking at how Sync coaches people involved in Sync through the ebulletins and through face to face sessions, on the telephone or on MSN.
One Sync 100 member described Sync Coaching like being 'pinched by a beetle'
Henry Thomas Buckle, a famous historian, once said Every new truth has, for a time caused, mischief and discomfort.
Sometimes it hurts for a bit when we need to make a change!
When we try something new, sometimes we worry about what might happen to us. This can be like telling ourselves a horror story.
Wouldn't it be better to tell ourselves different stories - about mermaids and pearls, rather than jellyfish and sharks!
Sync Coaching is interested in the people involved in Sync becoming better storytellers.
The Cultural Leadership Programme (CLP) has said that we can keep Sync going for 2 more years, which means more coaching!
We still have so many things to share together. Watch this space.
Our separate programme, Sync South East is now up and running and you can see the 30 individuals and 10 organisations selected the Sync South East website (http://www.syncsoutheast.co.uk)
And the Lead On Open Space Disability Conference is still taking bookings for the 22 September at the Cheltenham Town Hall. It's free, so if you can make it, do!
That’s all for now, but just to let you know, we'll be sending you all a late July ebulletin and then changing our website and ebulletins so we have a new look in September!
